Yesterday I was reunited with Brady after six weeks apart. He had been playing G.I. Joe in Texas and I had been sent to Utah to await his return. It was like a dream when I first saw him. He appeared to be glowing and so much more good looking than I remembered him being. I wasn't sure whether after being separated for so long we were still on the same terms. Was I allowed to touch him however I wanted or should we shake hands and start at the beginning again. We paused...then embraced...pulled apart and embraced again. We walked to the parking lot and then came the kisses. I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I ran over the curb as I backed out of the parking spot. The ride home was long and exciting. Not only because I had my man again, but because we became fully aware we were not in the desert anymore. The sky was pouring buckets onto the already moist Iowa crop. We arrived home safely and that's as far as that story goes. After all, this isn't a romance novel.
Absence definitely makes the heart grow fonder. I am glad to be home, but I had such a great time in Utah with our families. Here are just a few of the things I saw when I visited Bryce and Zion Canyons.
