At the beginning of December, I was called as the Young Women's 1st counselor for my ward. Normally I would have wanted to decline a job like that, but seeing how I am not working and bored out of my mind a lot of the time I was excited to accept the challenge. Because our ward is pretty small the Young Women's presidency is all there is for the girls. So that leaves three of us to get the lessons and activities planned. I remember there being a lot more leaders when I was in Young Women's in Utah.
The work started right away. The Young Women in Excellence Program had already been scheduled for two weeks from the time we got our new callings. The program is supposed to showcase what the girls have done in the personal progress program over the past year. Unfortunately, I had no idea what the girls had done over the past year and many of them couldn't remember either. Overall, I think it went pretty well considering the amount of time we had to plan. I made the invites and the program. Here is the invite and a picture of the girls who came.
