New Church Job

At the beginning of December, I was called as the Young Women's 1st counselor for my ward. Normally I would have wanted to decline a job like that, but seeing how I am not working and bored out of my mind a lot of the time I was excited to accept the challenge. Because our ward is pretty small the Young Women's presidency is all there is for the girls. So that leaves three of us to get the lessons and activities planned. I remember there being a lot more leaders when I was in Young Women's in Utah.
The work started right away. The Young Women in Excellence Program had already been scheduled for two weeks from the time we got our new callings. The program is supposed to showcase what the girls have done in the personal progress program over the past year. Unfortunately, I had no idea what the girls had done over the past year and many of them couldn't remember either. Overall, I think it went pretty well considering the amount of time we had to plan. I made the invites and the program. Here is the invite and a picture of the girls who came.

The invitation turned out very cute. I am in the Young Women's too - and though it may be crazy busy (especially having two kids) it is very rewarding. Just think how much you loved Young Womens and how these girls need you and will look up to you!

THat is such a fun calling. I loved my young women leaders so much. You have such a great chance to get to know the young women and help make an impact on their lives! Great job with the invites, they look so cute!
