At the beginning of December, I was called as the Young Women's 1st counselor for my ward. Normally I would have wanted to decline a job like that, but seeing how I am not working and bored out of my mind a lot of the time I was excited to accept the challenge. Because our ward is pretty small the Young Women's presidency is all there is for the girls. So that leaves three of us to get the lessons and activities planned. I remember there being a lot more leaders when I was in Young Women's in Utah.
The work started right away. The Young Women in Excellence Program had already been scheduled for two weeks from the time we got our new callings. The program is supposed to showcase what the girls have done in the personal progress program over the past year. Unfortunately, I had no idea what the girls had done over the past year and many of them couldn't remember either. Overall, I think it went pretty well considering the amount of time we had to plan. I made the invites and the program. Here is the invite and a picture of the girls who came.

Panera Soup right here in Casper
I have often sat sad over the misfortunate I face living in Casper where my newfound love Panera Bread does not reside. Each time I visit Colorado I make a point to go to the restaurant that I have missed so much since moving from Iowa.
Well, the best thing happpened the other day, I got a Sam's Club card and found that they sell my favorite Panera Bread soup Brocolli Cheddar there refridgerated in the store. Happy Day! I can survive!
P.S. If your wondering why I never talk about being pregnant here, you are at the wrong blog. Check my other pregnancy blog.

Trip to Colorado
Yesterday we got back from a weekend tip to visit with Brady's friend from Utah, Davey, who flew out to meet us in Broomfield, Colorado, where Brady's parents are living. It was a fun trip. We took the cog train near Colorado Springs to the top of Pike's Peak, which is 14,150 feet high. It was a lot more fun for me than hiking to the top. I am not a fan of hiking up. They had a little gift store and treat shop at the top to escape the negative two degree weather outside. I had chocolate donuts and hot chocolate. On the ride down I started to feel nauseous, but managed to hold down the hot chocolate climbing back up my throat until I got of the train and hid behind a big dumpster. Unfortunately, for the rest of the outing I had to wear a portion of my stomach contents on the bottom of my pant legs from the splash. We also visited the Garden of the Gods which was extremely cool and free. I couldn't believe the guy who was free climbing the rocks! So dangerous! It was a fun trip weekender. I always have a great time with Brady's family.

Finished Sweater!
I'm here in Wyoming
Sadly this will be short because I'm tired, but I haven't blogged forever so I thought even a little one would be okay. We have been in Wyoming for about a week now and I am loving having my own house. I have so much room!!!! We showed up just in time for a flood (and I thought Iowa storms were bad!). I think the flood was on friday? I really haven't been keeping track of time. Anyways, because I parked my car near the gutter the backseat flooded with water. It is still drying out. No damage to the house though so I'm am feeling way blessed. My car is old and beat up anyway. Oh and then the water main in the road in front of my house busted because the support underneath it was washed away by the flood... so we had more water. No damage to my belongings this time.It has been all very exciting! When I am not busy playing crisis handler I have been helping Brady study for boards. He takes them Monday and has been studying so hard. Pray for him!

Addicted After My First Time
I have a passion for bath time and I have discovered my new best friend. Their products are a little pricey but way worth it. I tried the Karma Bubble Bar tonight and fell in love with Lush. The smell was good and the bubbles were great. I was able to break the bar up so I can use some later. I can't wait to try more stuff. I suggest everyone check them out at lushusa.com.

The Truth about the Price of Oil
This pisses me off, not really because the prices hurt me particularly since I don't use much oil, but that companies, not even oil companies, have been manipulating the prices. People are sooo greedy sometimes. (the video I am talking about is after the smoking add)

Hello Wyoming!
Looks like we are moving to Casper, Wyoming for Brady's medical school rotations!
Added Jan 17: So maybe I need to explain a little bit more about this move for people who aren't familiar with DMU life. For your third and fourth years of medical school you do rotations with physicians. There is not enough room for all DMU third and fourth year medical students to stay in the town of their medical school (DMU doesn't have its own hospital), so they send some students elsewhere. Elsewhere, in this case, could have been other cities in Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio, Missouri, or Wyoming. You get some say in where you want to go. You give them your first 3 choices. They do a Lottery for region and then city. If you choose Wyoming for your first choice and get it, you go to Casper. That is the only city available. So we thought that since there is chance that we might have to move even if we chose the Iowa region (because of the second lottery for city), we might as well make our first choice closer to home. We got our first choice. So that is how and why Wyoming is in our future.
